Jane Bennett of Stratton Square in East Hampton died on Sunday at Southampton Hospital. She was 98. A graveside service was held at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in East Hampton on Monday. A complete obituary will appear in a future issue.
Anne Aspinall, who taught a generation of children and adults the art of riding and horsemanship and was one of the Hampton Classic Horse Show’s original supporters, died at home in Sagaponack last Thursday. She was 65 and had had lung cancer for five and a half years.
William Peer Bain Jr., a pharmacist who was born above the family drugstore in East Hampton, and an Army officer in charge of recruiting on the East End, died at home in Boynton Beach, Fla., on Sunday of pancreatic cancer after a long illness. He was 84.
Edward J. Beck, 90, a resident of Montauk for more than 40 years who built the Rendezvous Motel on West Lake Drive and owned it for many years, died on Friday in North Palm Beach, Fla., of heart disease after a prolonged illness.
