Dr. Zan A. Zolan of Scottsdale, Ariz., an internist and cardiologist formerly of East Hampton, died on Jan. 7, after a two-year illness with cancer.

Albert John Loper, a former employee of the East Hampton Town Highway Department and a 40-year member of the Amagansett Fire Department, died on Dec. 28 at Washington Hospital in Washington, N.C.

Alice Watson, who came with her family to Montauk in 1952 to camp at Hither Hills, and loved it so much she convinced her husband, George Watson, to build a bungalow near the fishing docks, died in Basking Ridge, N.J., on New Year’s Day. She was 91.

A survivor of the Great Depression who left school to help her struggling family, Dolores King of East Hampton died on Dec. 11 at Southampton Hospital after a long illness. She was 84.

Frances DeMarco, who lived on Albertine’s Lane in East Hampton and was an active member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church here, died of lung cancer on Jan. 4 in Northport. She was 91.

A service was held at the Yardley and Pino Funeral Home in East Hampton on Sunday for Halsey Ludlow Dickinson Jr. of East Hampton, who died on Jan. 4 after his car plunged into Three Mile Harbor.
