John J. Nolan Jr., a woodworker, sailor, and jazz aficionado, died on Oct. 10 of injuries sustained in an accident at his home on North Haven. He was 53.

James Patrick Barrett Jr., who founded Southampton Painting and Contracting, died of cancer at Southampton Hospital on Nov. 9. He was 60.

Kathleen Schwestka, a retired secretary with the Bell Telephone Company in New Jersey and a 28-year resident of Sag Harbor, died at Southampton Hospital last Thursday. She was 83.
