The East Hampton High School football team went out with a bang Saturday, not with a whimper.
Both East Hampton High School volleyball teams are playoff-bound, though they most likely will be among the lower seeds.
The East Hampton High School football team had been hoping to record its first win of the season at McGann-Mercy Friday night, but, alas, it was not to be as the similarly winless homecoming hosts were to prevail 21-6.
The East Hampton High School girls swimming team swam to a second-place finish in League III here on Oct. 19, leaving last year’s league champs, Harborfields, in its wake, 85-73.
The East Hampton High School boys soccer team, which, powered by Kumani Clark’s hat trick, sank the Southampton Mariners here on Oct. 18, thus assuring itself of the fourth seed and a first-round home game in the county Class A tournament, is to play that game here today, at 2 p.m., with Harborfields, League V’s third-place finisher.

Walter Banfield, a member of the Marder family who, while reared in southern Virginia, has spent his summers in Springs, recently won the United States’ lightweight under-23 singles rowing title and competed in the world championships in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
