The Killer Bees of Bridgehampton continued to torment the opposition on Friday, defeating Greenport 80-60 in the Beehive despite the fact that Tylik Furman, the point guard, was sidelined because of an ankle he’d twisted three days before on Shelter Island.
East Hampton High’s boys and girls winter track teams diverged this past Saturday — most of the girls going to a developmental meet at St. Anthony’s with their coach, Yani Cuesta, while Bill Herzog, the boys coach, took five girls and five boys to the Hispanic Games at the 168th Street Armory in New York City.
Things continued to go swimmingly for the league-leading East Hampton and Bridgehampton High School boys basketball teams last week.
The new year isn’t too far along yet for a brief review of East Hampton’s athletic one just past.
Young East Hampton swimmers competed in three different pools this past week — the high school’s boys varsity at Hauppauge High School on Jan. 6, and Y.M.C.A. East Hampton RECenter Hurricane contingents at the University of Maryland’s Winterfest and at the Flushing Y.M.C.A. over the weekend.

Though East Hampton High’s winter track coaches, Bill Herzog and Yani Cuesta, continued to lament this week the fact that a number of their charges absented themselves during the holiday break, both had some good things to say concerning recent meets.
