The room you enter upon walking into World Pie has a glossy redwood bar, and a curved banquette table in the window. The back room is often full, and it opens to the outdoors during summer months. Even though World Pie is named for its 20 different, interesting pizzas, there is a diverse menu of appetizers, salads, entrees, and pastas. Some recent items on the menu include grilled tandoori chicken, penne with roasted eggplant, and lobster ravioli. The restaurant is popular with diners from every walk of life, prices are reasonable by Hamptons standards, and there is usually a young crowd as the evening wears on.

Good things come in small packages. Yama-Q has a sushi bar and a simple dining room with about a dozen tables. Mainly Japanese, with innovative use of vegetables and seafood, the menu changes regularly and is posted on a blackboard. You might call the cuisine healthy because there are lots of choices for vegetarians. Others might order duck quesadillas, agadashi tofu, seafood dumplings, buckwheat noodles in a broth of kelp and mushrooms, eel kabayaki, shrimp and vegetable tempura, banana tempura, or green tea ice cream. Hours can be somewhat variable.
