1770 House

143 Main Street, East Hampton, NY 11937
Dinner seven days. Open, 5:30-10 p.m. weekdays. Weekends until 10:30 p.m.

The 1770 House has a small dining room, with old-wood tables, soft lighting, and Oriental rugs, and a more casual dining area and tavern-style bar in the basement. The restaurant offers cosseting service, high-quality contemporary American food with an emphasis on simplicity, beautiful presentation, and has a comfortable sound level.  Dishes may include a spicy local fluke tartare appetizer with hijiki and wasabi tobiko radish, or beets and baby mizuna lettuce, smokey blue cheese, and maple-cumin dressing. Entree choices include seared scallops with sweet peas and potatoes and chanterelle mushroom fondue, melted leeks, and black garlic. Local products are served whenever possible. A nice addition is the outdoor patio where, along with enjoying your food, you can enjoy a beautiful evening outside.
