Someone stole a Stihl leaf blower from the back of Jaime Solano’s van, which was parked on Three Mile Harbor Road between Dec. 9 and 10. The van’s key, which was left in the cup holder, and the vehicle’s registration/insurance card were also stolen. Mr. Solano said he was afraid someone would return and try to steal the vehicle.

A couple who have been sleeping in the East Hampton Post Office on Gay Road in recent weeks were found sleeping in Herrick Park on Dec. 10 at about 3:50 p.m. The pair were under a sleeping bag keeping warm, police said. They left after officers suggested they find warmth inside somewhere. However, just a few hours later, at around 6:15 p.m., the two were found in the lobby of the post office again. Police told them they are no longer allowed in the post office and would be arrested if they returned.

An East Hampton woman reported a suspicious person in the vicinity of Spaeth Lane on Dec. 11 at about 12:50 p.m. Police found a man doing landscaping work.

A suspicious man also was reported in the long-term parking lot on Lumber Lane on Friday at about 10:30 p.m. He was reportedly getting in and out of his vehicle and going up to other cars. Police canvassed the area with no results.

In a report released this week, Michael Nicholoulias reported damage at his Federal Street house in September. He said a garage door opener, solar light, lawn ornament, second floor closet rod bracket, second floor toilet ballcock, and the toilet tank were damaged by someone whose name he gave to police. He wanted the suspect to pay for damages.
