Grant for East Hampton Church Repairs

Thu, 08/08/2019 - 23:56

The New York Landmarks Conservancy has awarded the East Hampton Presbyterian Church $2,500 to help fund exterior carpentry and roof repairs.

The congregation moved to the site in 1861, which was its third location. The church was remodeled in 1960 to more closely resemble New England Presbyterian churches.

In addition to ongoing religious activities, the church is used by the East Hampton Food Pantry  and is the base of many community outreach programs. Exterior restoration will  help it “provide a sense of history and place to communities,” said Peg Breen, president of the New York Landmarks Conservancy.
