Stolen Vase Is Recovered

A Shelter Island woman has been arrested for taking a pricey vase from the 1770 House in East Hampton Village earlier this month.

Lt. Greg Brown of the village police said Kelci Anne McIntosh, 32, was identified through surveillance video as having taken a foot-high white vase on Nov. 5 from the lobby of the Main Street inn and restaurant. She had had dinner there that evening with several others, he said. Management reported the vase missing that same evening. It is reportedly worth between $5,000 and $10,000.

Detectives picked up Ms. McIntosh at her house on Shelter Island last Thursday and brought her back to headquarters, where she gave a statement and admitted taking the vase, Lieutenant Brown said.

She was charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree and grand larceny in the third degree, both felonies. She was released on her own recognizance and will be arraigned in East Hampton Town Justice Court on Dec. 5.
