Montauk and Amagansett were the parts of East Hampton Town still with the most customers without electricity, the Long Island Power Authority is reporting on its Web site this morning.
Townwide, the meters at 4,552 LIPA customers were not spinning. Power has been restored to about 2,500 houses and businesses in East Hampton.

In all of Suffolk, about a third of LIPA customers were without power. The utility was not making specific predictions about when power would be restored.
LIPA brass are to hold a press conference today at 11:30 a.m. to talk about the company's efforts. At the peak of the outages, the total without power was 523,000. LIPA said it deployed 2,300 restoration workers. The blackout has been the largest in 25 years.
