The Montauket is famous for the spectacular sunsets over Fort Pond, which you can watch from a porch, and for being funky. The building, hotel rooms, and cottages have been for sale for years, and we hear the asking price has been lowered. The menu has seafood and fish, salads, and pot roast and pork chops. The Montauket is kid-friendly, and provided parents don't mind the flowing beer, they can have burgers, mozzarella sticks, fried shrimp, and the like. An outdoor daiquiri bar serves oysters, clams, and shrimp.
