The downtown building on South Elmwood Avenue that once housed Oyster Pond restaurant is now Zum Schneider MTK, an eastern outpost of the restaurant and biergarten in Manhattan’s East Village, which serves up German and Bavarian specialties, including bratwurst and weiner schnitzel, but it also offers sauerbraten fresh fish, potato dumplings and the like, and homemade desserts. The owner, Sylvester Schneider, has said it will be open year round.
