Red bar exemplifies the look of a sophisticated Hampton's house. Candlelight gives the dark interior a touch of romance, which attracts a young and frequently ebullient crowd. The menu offers innovative choices, such as sauteed black sea bass with artichoke hearts and heirloom shell beans. There's a crackling pork shank with sauerkraut, apples, bacon and homemade German-style beer mustard. Truffled chicken breast with wild mushroom risotto and french beans, a customer favorite, is also offered. Red bar is owned by David Loewenberg and partners, who also own little red, Beacon, Fresno, and the Bell and Anchor.
