Nelson H. White's painting "The Sea Harmony, May 26, 2019" can be seen at the Grenning Gallery in Sag Harbor beginning this weekend.

The Sea as Muse
"Breeze and Brine," an exhibition of work by three painters inspired by the ocean, will open at the Grenning Gallery in Sag Harbor on Saturday, with a reception from 6 to 7 p.m.

Many of Darius Yektai's recent paintings feature bright white atmospheres over seafoam greens, robin's-egg blues, sandy yellows, and browns that convey a sense of lightness, as described by the gallery.

Edward Minoff is known for his precise paintings of Atlantic waves, originally inspired by his family home on Fire Island. His commitment to detail is reflected in drops of sea spray and waves curling toward the shore.

Nelson H. White's paintings are lyrical studies of the color and light of the seaside, rendered with soft hues, sweeping brushstrokes, and thickly applied rows of white that form white-capped waves.

The exhibition will continue through April 2.

Artists' Panel
Four artists from the Southampton Arts Center's exhibition "East End Collected" will take part in a free panel discussion there on Saturday afternoon at 3. The conversation with Kelynn Adler, Isadora Capraro, Lautaro Cuttica, and George Schulman will be moderated by Paton Miller, the show's curator, and Christina Strassfield, the arts center's executive director.
