Frankie Gavin, a traditional Irish fiddle player who won his first All-Ireland fiddle competition 50 years ago, will perform in the Southampton History Museum's Sayre Barn next Thursday at 6 p.m. He will be accompanied on piano by Catherine McHugh, one of the foremost accompanists in Irish music.
Mr. Gavin is a founding member of the Irish folk group De Dannan, whose album "Half Set in Harlem" combined African-American rhythms with Irish music. He has played with the Rolling Stones, Elvis Costello, Earl Scruggs, and James Galway, among many other notables.
Tickets are $30. In the event of rain, the show will move inside the Rogers Mansion.
