Technical Programs for High Schoolers

Wed, 01/27/2021 - 19:44

The Eastern Long Island Academy of Applied Technology, which is operated by the Board of Cooperative Educational Services, or BOCES, will have online open house days for high school programs on Wednesday and next Thursday.

Students and their families will be able to learn about the various BOCES programs, including auto and marine technology, animal science, personal training, computer science, cosmetology, building trades, practical nursing, aviation, and many others. BOCES classes are generally in person and hands on, though the pandemic may have altered some aspects of the programs. Students are bused to and from the BOCES campuses, in Oakdale, Bellport, and Riverhead, by their home school districts each day.

There are three open house sessions available: Wednesday from 8 to 10 a.m. and noon to 2 p.m., and next Thursday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. A link to sign up is at academyli.org.
