A.F.L.-C.I.O. Comes Out for Ahearn

Thu, 08/13/2020 - 11:54

Laura Ahearn, the Port Jefferson attorney and social worker who won New York’s First Senate District primary in June, on Monday announced that she has been endorsed by the state A.F.L.-C.I.O., a coalition of public sector, private sector, and building trade unions that collectively have more than 2.5 million members in New York.

The organization is "proud to stand with Laura Ahearn. Throughout her career, Laura has been a tenacious fighter for the most vulnerable. We trust she will bring that same conviction to the State Capitol, and be a loud and commanding voice for working people every day," said Mario Cilento, president of the organization.
