Southampton Town police said Niall D. Wood, 29, appeared to be intoxicated; his eyes were bloodshot and glassy, his speech was slurred, and his breath smelled of alcohol. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests, police said.

Cited, in addition, for three traffic infractions, Mr. Wood was held overnight for arraignment in Southampton Town Justice Court. He was released on his own recognizance to await arraignment.
