Tue, 07/16/2019 - 16:32

East Hampton Town police are working with the Suffolk County Medical Examiner's office on two separate death investigations in recent days.

A man in his 30s was found dead at the beach landing on Louse Point Road in Springs on Tuesday morning, East Hampton Town Police Detective Sgt. Dan Toia said. A beachgoer found the man's body and called 911 at 5:13 a.m.

Police do not believe foul play was involved and said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death. There were also no indications of an overdose, the detective said.

The medical examiner responded and will determine the cause and time death, Detective Toia said. His name is being withheld until his family can be notified, the detective said.

On Friday, police were called to a house on South Forest Street in Montauk when a man, believed to be in his 60s, was found dead at 12:10 p.m. His death was also not considered suspicious, Detective Toia said. The medical examiner is working to determine his cause of death as well.

His name also was not immediately released.
