On Monday, the 16th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks, emergency responders and the public will gather once again to remember those who lost their lives at the Memorial Green at Hook Mill. The ceremony will start at 6 p.m.

Presented each year by the East Hampton Town Chiefs Association, the brief event will include a benediction and the placing of a memorial wreath, according to Gerry Turza, the president of the association.

Nearly 3,000 people died in the attacks at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001, including 343 firefighters.
