Andrew Duggan Wetzel and Jennifer Leigh Slay of Portland, Ore., were married under the rotunda at the historic San Francisco City Hall on March 31, with Judge Robin Whirtlin officiating.

Only the couple’s immediate families and a close friend attended the intimate ceremony. Mr. Wetzel’s parents, Marguerite and Patrick Wetzel, flew in from Montauk, as did his brother, Nick Wetzel, sister Noelle Wetzel, and niece, Kaia Wetzel. His sister and brother-in-law, Marisa and Justin Russell of Brooklyn, also attended, as did the bride’s parents, Dianne Denton Slay and James Linwood Slay of Tualatin, Ore. Her best friend from childhood, Eric Zimmerman of San Francisco, served as a witness.

A champagne reception followed at a house on Russian Hill, overlooking San Francisco Bay, and then all in attendance enjoyed a dinner in the wine cellar at the Boulevard restaurant. After dinner, Mr. Wetzel and Ms. Slay, who will keep her name, went straight to the airport for a flight to Bali.

Following a two-week honeymoon there, they are back at home in Portland.

Mr. Wetzel, who graduated from Northeastern University in Boston, is a freelance book editor. Ms. Slay owns Mox Botanicals. She graduated from the University of Oregon.
