Intro to Acting
Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor will present the Lifelong Leaning Series, a free, four-part online seminar series sponsored by AARP Long Island, starting next Thursday at 7 p.m. with Intro to Acting, an interactive presentation for those 18 and older by Reggie D. White, a New York-based multidisciplinary artist.
Mr. White most recently wrote and directed the world premiere of “In Case You Hadn’t Heard,” an online theatrical view of race in America drawn entirely from the speeches and writings of 20 historic and contemporary African-Americans.
As an actor he has appeared on Broadway in the award-winning play “The Inheritance,” as well as in productions at the Public Theater, 59E59, Berkeley Rep, and the New York Theater Workshop. He is also the artistic director of the Atlantic Acting School.

Music Scene
At the Ram’s Head Inn on Shelter Island, Jon Divello and Greg McMullen will play Thursday night at 6:30. Friday, same time, it’s Lizzy and the Makers. Mr. McMullen and Julia King will perform on Sunday, also at 6:30. There is no cover.
Annie Trezza will perform at the Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett Friday at 8 p.m. On Saturday, also at 8, it’s the HooDoo Loungers. Kate Usher and the Sturdy Souls will play on Sunday, 8 p.m., and on Wednesday at 7 p.m. it’s Inda Eaton and Nancy Atlas. See the venue’s website for ticketing information.
Liar’s Saloon, on West Lake Drive in Montauk, will feature live music outdoors this summer. Friday, Ray Red performs from 4 to 7 p.m.
The Jam Session is once again recording new performances, presently without an audience, for later broadcast on WLIW-88.3 FM and streaming at wliw.org. The May 2 recording of Dara Factor One, a tribute to 1970s and ‘80s fusion, will air on Sunday from 8 to 9 p.m. The Oscar Feldman Quartet recorded on Sunday, with the performance to air on May 23.
Classical Piano
The Salon Series of classical music concerts will resume at the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill Friday with a performance by the pianist Wynona Wang that will be livestreamed from the museum’s theater at 6 p.m.
Ms. Wang was a first-prize winner of the 2018 Concert Artists Guild International Competition and the 2017 Wideman International Piano Competition. She has performed as a featured soloist with orchestras in Florida, the Ukraine, and Italy, and has given solo recitals in Spain, Indonesia, and throughout China.
The Parrish concert will feature works from the Baroque, late Romantic, and modern eras, including works by Scarlatti, Rachmaninoff, and Chen Yi. Tickets are $20, $15 for members, and must be purchased on the museum’s website. A second concert on Friday, May 21, will feature the pianist Nadejda Vlaeva. The package price for both concerts is $35, $25 for members.Films During Covid
The Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center will present “Films During the Pandemic,” a virtual talk by Marion Wolberg Weiss, on Sunday at 5 p.m. via Zoom.
Ms. Weiss, a film historian, professor, and author of a biography of Martin Scorsese, will talk about the ways in which watching movies has been changed, perhaps permanently, by the pandemic.
She will discuss how such arresting and offbeat films such as “I Care a Lot,” and “The Trial of the Chicago 7” have found large and enthusiastic audiences even during the closure of theaters, despite isolation and the interruptions common to watching movies at home.

‘Carmen’ at the Beach
Met Under Moonlight, the drive-in movie series presented by Guild Hall and HamptonsFilm, will feature the Metropolitan Opera’s 2010 production of Bizet’s “Carmen” on Saturday at 8 p.m. at Main Beach in East Hampton.
Elina Garanca, a mezzo-soprano, stars as the iconic gypsy who steals and eventually breaks the heart of the soldier Don Jose. Richard Eyre’s production includes choreography by Christopher Wheeldon; Yannick Nezet-Seguin conducts. Tickets are $80 per car and must be purchased in advance from Guild Hall’s website.
