Music will be in the air at LTV Studios in Wainscott this weekend with the launch of its Hamptons Summer Songbook by the Sea series. Produced by Donna Rubin and Josh Gladstone, LTV's creative director, the series features a roster of notable cabaret and Broadway artists in "the intimate, funky, and unique environs of a reconfigured, industrial television studio."

Saturday evening's program, "The Song Is You," will showcase the vocal stylings of Anna Bergman, who "thrills you with the sheer aural sensation of her voice," according to The Wall Street Journal. Ms. Bergman has performed as a soloist in Queen Elizabeth's Birthday/60th Jubilee, in Carnegie Hall's Ira Gershwin Centennial and the Vienna: City of Dreams festival, at the White House, and with symphony orchestras and international music festivals.

Her performance, set for 7:30 p.m., will include songs from Broadway musicals and films by Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim, Jerome Kern, George and Ira Gershwin, Richard Rodgers, Oscar Hammerstein, Alan Jay Lerner, Sheldon Harnick, Michel Legrand, Charles Trenet, Franz Lehar, and Noel Coward. She will be accompanied by Phil Hall, music director and pianist.

Tickets are $50 in advance, $55 at the door, and $80 for cafe table seating.

Subsequent programs will feature Steve Ross and Karen Murphy, Tovah Feldshuh, Sal Viviano, Jeff Harnar, Karen Akers, Mark Nadler and KT Sullivan, and Christine Andreas.

The Sweet Smell of Nostalgia at Sagaponack General

Stepping into the new Sagaponack General Store, which reopened yesterday after being closed since 2020, is a sweet experience, and not just because there’s a soft-serve ice cream station on the left and what promises to be the biggest penny candy selection on the South Fork on your right, but because it’s like seeing an old friend who, after some struggle, made it big. Really, really big.
