East Hampton High School students who want to improve their grades can sign up for summer school, running this year from July 8 to Aug. 8 with classes every Monday through Thursday.

Registration will take place in the high school lobby on Monday and Tuesday from 8 to 11 a.m. Each student is allowed to take a maximum of two courses during the summer session, and both a parent/guardian and the student must be present at registration for the paperwork.

East Hampton will offer a variety of courses, contingent on enrollment numbers, in math, history, science, English, and economics. Class sessions will be 7:30 to 9:45 a.m. and 9:50 a.m. to 12:05 p.m. More than two absences will result in no summer credits granted.

Non-East Hampton students may enroll for a fee of $550 per course. Additionally, if a student is looking for a certain course not offered at East Hampton, he or she may take classes at other approved schools.

The school district website, easthamptonschools.org, has more information about the summer session.
