For their contribution to the Springs Break fund-raiser at the Stephen Talkhouse earlier this month, second graders at Springs School donated boxes of Legos.

The Springs School P.T.A. hosted its fourth annual Springs Break at the Stephen Talkhouse on March 13. The party is a fund-raiser for upcoming field trips and school events, including the back-to-school barbecue, field trips for all grades, and the annual Green and White Field Day.

Just as in years past, many classes contributed to a different themed collection that was raffled off at the event. The students donated items for their grade’s theme. The prekindergarten theme was arts and crafts, kindergarten’s was movie night, first grade had game night, second grade focused on Legos, the third graders contributed items for a beach day theme, and fourth grade’s theme was the outdoors. Sports and tailgating was the theme for the fifth-grade basket, and the sixth-grade basket had a Lotto tree.

Brianna Stone, who serves on the executive board of the P.T.A., said the night was a great success, bringing in many attendees including people from neighboring districts. “The one thing I think we can work on a little more is starting our planning a little earlier and sending out tasks to each part of our committee to get the ball rolling after the new year. We want to ensure it’s organized and ready to go by the time the event rolls around.”

All in all, it was a great and fun way to raise money for students at Springs School.
