Beach Restrictions Continue in Southampton

Thu, 06/18/2020 - 09:43

Southampton Town Supervisor Jay Schneiderman has extended an emergency order restricting town beaches and access roads to residents, legal renters, and valid permit holders through Saturday. The order, which suspends existing town laws due to a state of emergency declared in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, is limited to five days. Mr. Schneiderman has been extending the order since it was originally issued on May 23, during Memorial Day weekend.

Valid permits will be required for designated parking-by-permit-only areas, which may include beach parking areas, roads, road shoulders, town trustee access roads, and rights of way. Permits purchased in 2019 are valid until June 30. No daily permits will be sold this year.
