Goroff’s Fund-Raising Report

Thu, 08/06/2020 - 12:21

Nancy Goroff, the Democratic Party's candidate to challenge Mr. Zeldin, announced that her campaign had raised more than $620,000 in the three weeks since winning the nomination. Her campaign said this week that she had raised more than $880,000 in general election funding. A first-time candidate, she is on leave from her position as chairwoman of Stony Brook University's chemistry department.

"Nancy's grassroots campaign has continued to gain momentum over the past three weeks," Jacob Sarkozi, Ms. Goroff's campaign manager, said. "It's clear that Suffolk County voters are fed up with Representative Lee Zeldin's failed leadership and want a representative who will use a scientist's fact-based perspective to tackle the real and unprecedented challenges of our time — the coronavirus pandemic, climate change, tens of thousands without health insurance, and much more." Her campaign "draws a clear contrast with Representative Zeldin's divisive rhetoric and corporate PAC-funded campaign," he said.
