Fri, 01/10/2025 - 11:16
Esly Escobar makes annual trips to Guatemala to teach and bring donated art supplies to children in elementary school.

Esly Escobar of Westhampton Beach, an artist recently profiled in The Star, is looking for donations of children’s art supplies for a teaching trip to his home country of Guatemala in March. Mr. Escobar has created an Amazon Wish List full of items to he hopes to take to children there.

The items on the list range from $7 to $71 and include art supplies such as clay, glue sticks, acrylic paint brushes, and pencils and erasers. Additionally on the list there are Spanish editions of the children's biographical book series “Who Was . . .” each focused on a famous artist.

Mr. Escobar, a multimedia artist, is also a D.J., fashion designer, and a technician at LTV Studios in Wainscott.

He created a large sculpture made from 10,000 tennis balls and other sports equipment for the Parrish Art Museum’s 2018 Road Show.

Mr. Escobar’s Amazon Wish List can be found here.
