Christmas Services From Sag Harbor to Montauk

East Hampton

The First Presbyterian Church in East Hampton's service of lessons and carols will be on Sunday at 10 a.m. Its Christmas Eve service will begin at 5 p.m. 

Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church will have its Christmas Eve vigil in the Parish Hall at 5 p.m. A vigil in Spanish will follow at 7:30. On Christmas Day, Mass will be said at 11:30 a.m. in the church and in Spanish at 4 p.m. in the Parish Hall. 

St. Luke’s Episcopal Church’s Christmas pageant, open to all, will take place during the 10 a.m. service on Sunday. A Christmas Eve Eucharist service will be held at 4 p.m., and a Christmas Day Eucharist service will be at 10 a.m. 

At St. Peter’s Chapel in Springs, which is associated with St. Luke’s, a Christmas Eve Eucharist service will be celebrated at 6:30 p.m. 

Amagansett

A Christmas Eve candlelight service at the Amagansett Presbyterian Church will happen at 6:30 p.m. 

At St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, a Christmas Eve service starts at 5 p.m., after which the Rev. George W. Dietrich will travel to Incarnation Lutheran Church in Water Mill for a 7 o’clock service there. 

Sag Harbor

The Old Whalers Church’s Christmas pageant will be held on Sunday at 10 a.m., presented by the children of the congregation, to be followed by lunch in the Social Hall. The church will hold Christmas Eve candlelight services at 5 and 11 p.m. 

Christmas Eve Masses will be celebrated at 4 and 5:30 p.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church, and on Christmas Day Masses will be said at 8 and 10:45 a.m. 

Montauk

The Montauk Community Church will hold will have a candlelight service at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

A Christmas Eve Mass will be celebrated at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church at 4 p.m., with a Mass in Spanish following at 6. Mass will be said at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. on Christmas Day.

Time to Strip, Dip, Freeze

Polar plunges at Main Beach in East Hampton and Beach Lane in Wainscott on New Year’s Day accomplish many things: bracing and exhilarating starts to the year, the company of many hundreds of friends and fellow townspeople, and a chance to secure bragging rights that extend well into 2026. But most important, each serves as a critical fund-raiser for food pantries.
