Thu, 05/29/2025 - 10:02

East Hampton Town police charged one man with a felony over the holiday weekend.

Early Monday, Memorial Day, Alexander Cianci of Boston, 23, was observed in Carl Fisher Plaza in Montauk “snorting a powdery white substance,” police reported. As officers approached, they said, he threw a glass vial containing more white powder onto the sidewalk.

A field test on the substance came back positive for cocaine, according to the report, and Mr. Cianci was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, a class D felony.

Later that day he appeared in Town Justice Court before Justice Steven Tekulsky, who released him on his own recognizance with an order to return to court on June 18.
