Oyster Fest
Gurney’s Star Island in Montauk will hold an oyster festival with $2 raw, grilled, or fried oysters and $4 seasonal beers from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday. The event will feature live music by the David Higgins Band.
New for the Off-Season
Starting Wednesday and continuing through the off-season, La Fondita in Amagansett will operate out of the bar at Coche Comedor, its sister restaurant next door. The takeout menu will be available daily, and the bar will be open for eat-in dining from noon to 3 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays.
The Asian specialty menu returns to the Highway Restaurant and Bar in East Hampton tonight. The à la carte options include pork dumplings with sesame chili dipping sauce for $17, crispy Long Island duck with hoisin sauce and moo shu pancakes for $59, and Thai ribs with sticky rice and scallions for $28.
Fall Specials
The Silver Lining Diner in Southampton is offering a three-course prix fixe dinner for $27 from 4 to 6 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and all night Sunday through Thursday. The menu features items such as a fish filet sandwich, mac and cheese, and soft serve ice cream.
The Bridgehampton Inn has dinner specials on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The menu for October features $12 small dishes such as buttermilk biscuits with spiced maple butter, $18 medium dishes, including bratwurst sliders, and $24 large plates such as roast chicken potpie. Desserts are $8 and include pumpkin mousse with a nut crumble.
Indian Wells Tavern in Amagansett has several fall food and drink specials. During N.F.L. football games on Sunday, Monday, and Thursday, chicken wings are $7, a warm pretzel with cheese sauce is $4, corn fritters are $5, nachos are $7, a cup of chili is $5, and hummus with grilled pita is $5. The drink specials include $5 draft beers, and $6 well drinks. On Mondays, a $24 prix fixe dinner includes a choice of appetizer such as chips and guacamole, a burger or crispy chicken sandwich, and a beer. On Wednesdays, a fajita dinner, with either steak, chicken, shrimp, or vegetables is $20 to $24, and, on Thursdays, prime rib with either soup or salad is $33.
The dinner specials at Union Burger Bar in Southampton include $5 burgers on Wednesdays, and, on Thursdays, a burger comes with a beer at half-price.
