Landscape Details Star

Michael Derrig, the owner of Landscape Details in East Hampton, won a Star of Design award on Oct. 15 at the Decoration and Design Building’s annual competition honoring achievements in fields such as landscape design, architecture, art, and photography.  

Treasures at the Shipwreck

The Shipwreck jewelry and gift store on Flamingo Avenue in Montauk will hold a pearl-theme party on Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. A former gemologist will give a talk about pearls, and Montauk pearl oysters will be served.

The shop, which launched on Memorial Day, will be open during the off-season and will hold several jewelry-making workshops.

For the Dogs

The Maidstone hotel in East Hampton Village is offering a food menu for dogs with dishes such as ground beef and rice with carrots for $10, and salmon and rice with vegetables for $12. Prices are half off on weekdays from 3 to 6 p.m. during the hotel’s “yappy hour.”

Workouts for a Cause

A selection of spin and Zumba classes this weekend at Hampton Gym locations in Sag Harbor and Southampton will double as fund-raisers for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Spin classes on Saturday morning at 7:15 and 9:30 in Southampton and at 8:15 and 9:30 in Sag Harbor and on Sunday at 7:15, 8:30, and 9:35 in Southampton and at 9:30 and 10:30 in Sag Harbor are part of the effort. Zumba class fees on Saturday at 10:45 in Southampton and Sunday at 11:45 in Sag Harbor will also go to the cause. There is a minimum requested donation of $25 per class; 100 percent of revenue will be donated.
