A man living in a motel room in Montauk hit his roommate in the head with a baseball bat there, in the early morning hours of Sunday, according to East Hampton Town police.

Hector Jaime Ventura-Figueroa, 31, assaulted Joel Villa, 34, with the wooden bat, considered a deadly weapon, at Zorba’s Inn on West Lake Drive just after 1 a.m., after Mr. Villa brought a woman into the room. Mr. Villa suffered “a raised welt” and “significant pain.”

Mr. Ventura-Figueroa was arrested at about 4 a.m. and charged with second-degree assault, a felony. East Hampton Town Justice Steven Tekulsky arraigned him later that day and set bail at $500 cash or $1,000 bond. Unable to pay, he was transferred into the custody of the Suffolk County Sheriff’s office.

A Sag Harbor man threatened his girlfriend and pinned her down on a bed because she had taken his gun and refused to give it back to him, village police said.

Kevin J. Chinchilla Barrantes, 27, and Aida Gutama Pacho were arguing over the gun on the morning of Sept. 24. When she said she had to leave for work, he reportedly told her she was not going anywhere until he got his gun back; otherwise, she told police, “Someone is going to pay.” Fearful, she tried to call 911, but he shoved her onto the bed and pinned her down, she told police, preventing her from calling for help. She was eventually able to free herself and dialed 911.

Mr. Barrantes was charged with criminal mischief in the fourth degree, a misdemeanor, and harassment in the second degree, a violation. Justice Lisa R. Rana released him on his own recognizance later that day.

Sag Harbor police also charged Octavio Benigno Alatoree Perez, 43, with criminal contempt in the second degree, a misdemeanor, on Saturday afternoon. Police said he contacted his ex-girlfriend several times by phone, violating an order of protection issued on Sept. 22 in Sag Harbor Village Justice Court. His bail was not available.

On Sunday evening, East Hampton Town police arrested Joseph A. Hawkins, 28, after he allegedly damaged several items at a house on Springs-Fireplace Road, East Hampton, where he was living. Mr. Hawkins had been involved in a verbal domestic dispute, police said, when he broke a banister railing and two dresser drawers, the damage amounting to under $250.

When police tried to place him under arrest around 9:10 p.m., he refused to put his hands behind his back and tensed all his muscles. According to the report, it took three officers to handcuff him.

Mr. Hawkins was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors, as well as unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. Police said they found a small amount of pot in his pants pocket during a search.

He was held overnight for arraignment. Justice Tekulsky released him on his own recognizance on Monday morning.

A Manhattan man was arrested in Montauk on a cocaine possession charge at about 10:15 p.m. on Sept. 24. Police said they found a small baggie of a white powdery substance under the driver’s seat of a car driven by Manta Luis Castro, 32, on Montauk Highway near South Eton Street. Mr. Castro was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor, and released on an appearance ticket.
