Jane Makley of Manhattan, 69, who was driving the GMC, said she and Blake Fleetwood had just left the Devon Yacht Club, heading south on Abram’s Landing Road, when the northbound Mini Cooper emerged from Bendigo Road at a high rate of speed and struck them, head-on, in the southbound lane.

Ms. Makley had bruises to her arm, and Mr. Fagerland complained of pain to his lower arm, but neither had to be taken to the hospital. Jackson R. Rafferty, 21, who was a passenger in the Mini Cooper and was also intoxicated, according to police, was not hurt, nor was Mr. Fleetwood, 75.

He refused to comply with the officer’s commands and pulled his arms away when she tried to place him in handcuffs. It took two officers to subdue him, the report said.
