A woman who East Hampton Town police later said was intoxicated, driving a 2013 Toyota sedan, hit a man walking alongside Three Mile Harbor Road, East Hampton, at about 3:45 a.m. on Sunday.
Leydi E. Tubatan, 35, hit Edwar E. Correcha-Calderon, 25, who was walking with traffic near Austin Road. She continued driving down the road after hitting him but then stopped; she was not charged with leaving the scene. Police said she showed signs of intoxication and performed poorly on field sobriety tests.
The pedestrian complained of back pain, according to the accident report. The East Hampton Village Ambulance Association transported him to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital.
Ms. Tubatan was charged with misdemeanor drunken driving and consumption or possession of an alcoholic beverages in a motor vehicle. East Hampton Town Justice Steven Tekulsky arraigned her on Sunday morning and released her on her own recognizance.
In Amagansett on Sunday evening, a drunken driver caused a head-on crash with another car, police said. Ryan Kristian Fagerland, 32, reportedly admitted that he had been drinking. He was attempting to drive a stick-shift 2005 Mini Cooper north on Abram’s Landing Road, he told officers, when he lost control and hit a 2014 GMC. The accident was reported at 5:38 p.m.
Jane Makley of Manhattan, 69, who was driving the GMC, said she and Blake Fleetwood had just left the Devon Yacht Club, heading south on Abram’s Landing Road, when the northbound Mini Cooper emerged from Bendigo Road at a high rate of speed and struck them, head-on, in the southbound lane.
Ms. Makley had bruises to her arm, and Mr. Fagerland complained of pain to his lower arm, but neither had to be taken to the hospital. Jackson R. Rafferty, 21, who was a passenger in the Mini Cooper and was also intoxicated, according to police, was not hurt, nor was Mr. Fleetwood, 75.
Mr. Fagerland, of Fort Collins, Colo., and Amagansett, performed poorly on all field sobriety tests, police said. He was arrested and charged with misdemeanor D.W.I. He was held overnight for a morning arraignment, and was released on his own recognizance.
Glenn C. Specht, 47, of East Hampton was arrested Friday evening near midnight after he backed into a stockade fence at the Springs Tavern on Fort Pond Boulevard. Mr. Specht was driving a 2005 Ford Escape in the parking lot at the restaurant and bar when the accident occurred.
Police said his blood-alcohol level was over .18, the threshold to be charged with misdemeanor aggravated drunken driving. He was additionally charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, after police found a small amount of pot in the car’s driver’s-side compartment. He was held for arraignment in the morning and released on his own recognizance.
A 59-year-old man was charged after an accident in Sag Harbor Village on Monday evening. Police said Eugene M. Connolly, who lives in Sag Harbor, was driving a Toyota Tundra when it hit a parked car in a parking lot on Bay Street at about 5:45 p.m., causing damage to both vehicles. He appeared intoxicated, police said, and refused to take a breath test. He was charged with D.W.I., a misdemeanor, and refusing to take the breath test, a violation. Held overnight at police headquarters for arraignment on Tuesday morning, he was freed on his own recognizance.
A Westhampton man who was arrested in Montauk Sunday night on a D.W.I. charge was additionally charged with resisting arrest. Matthew F. Murphy, 46, was driving without headlights on Montauk Highway near South Eagle Street, police said, and running a stop sign, when he was pulled over just before 10 p.m.
As police were questioning him, at about 10:15 p.m., he allegedly took several steps toward Officer Andrea M. Kess and then shoved her in the chest. He refused to comply with the officer’s commands and pulled his arms away when she tried to place him in handcuffs. It took two officers to subdue him, the report said.
Mr. Murphy was charged with D.W.I. and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors, and second-degree harassment, a violation. Justice Tekulsky released him on his own recognizance following arraignment on Monday.
Last Thursday at abut 1 a.m., Xen J. Angelidis, 26, was also arrested in Montauk on a drunken-driving charge. Police said the Montauk resident was driving a 2016 Nissan north on Flamingo Avenue, near Falcon Place, when he crossed over the solid white line, and they stopped him. He was reported to have failed the road sobriety test before being arrested and charged with misdemeanor D.W.I. Justice Lisa R. Rana arraigned him later that morning and released him on his own recognizance.
