South Fork Commuter Connection to Resume Monday

Fri, 11/08/2019 - 17:00

Train service between Southampton and Montauk is set to resume on Monday, East Hampton Town and Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele Jr. announced on Thursday. The Long Island Rail Road had shut down service on Oct. 15 to install higher railroad trestles across North Main Street and Accabonac Road in East Hampton Village. The new trestles are in place, and L.I.R.R. is expected to finish raising and resurfacing the tracks on Sunday.

The return of train service to points east also means the return on Monday of the South Fork Commuter Connection service, the commuter train service integrated with local shuttle buses.

The first train to Montauk will depart Southampton at 3:14 a.m.
