Affordable Housing Forum Monday

Fri, 06/14/2019 - 12:18

A forum on affordable housing on Monday sponsored by the League of Women Voters of the Hamptons will define the issue, address "the needs as compared to the availability," and allow guests to ask questions. It will take place at 7 p.m. at the Hampton Library on Main Street in Bridgehampton.

According to a news release, the speakers will be Diana Weir, Southampton Town's housing and community development director, Curtis Highsmith Jr., the executive director of the Southampton Housing Authority, Catherine Casey, the executive director of the East Hampton Housing Authority, and Tom Ruhle, the director of the East Hampton Office of Housing and Community Development. Refreshments will be served before the program, and a question-and-answer session will follow it.

Information will be distributed detailing housing terms and income eligibility requirements for affordable housing units.

Southampton Town's SEA-TV public access service, available on Channel 22, will tape and broadcast the forum.

More information can be had at the website of the League of Women Voters, at lwvhamptons.org, or by calling the organization at 631-324-4637 or the Hampton Library at 631-537-0015.
