Thu, 06/20/2019 - 09:01

Suffolk police are investigating the death of a Bridgehampton native whose body was found by the side of the road in Patchogue on Saturday night.

Clarence Wyche, a 39-year-old living in Patchogue, was found on the side of Rider Avenue there, near Edwards Street, after a passing motorist called police at about 10:20 p.m. Mr. Wyche had “extensive head injuries,” police said in a statement on Sunday. He was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the office of the Suffolk County medical examiner.

Detectives have asked anyone with information to call the county homicide squad at 631-852-6392 or make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
