Maureen Wikane of East Hampton died of pancreatic cancer on Tuesday at Quiogue’s Kanas Center for Hospice Care. Ms. Wikane, the longtime director of the Eleanor Whitmore Early Childhood Center (formerly the East Hampton Day Care Center), was 71. A private family service will be held, with a memorial gathering to take place in August. An obituary will appear in a future issue.
