Aller at MM Fine Art

“Shared History,” an exhibition of 10 large-scale photographs by Renate Aller, will open at MM Fine Art in Southampton on Saturday with a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. and continue through July 14.

Ms. Aller, whose work is currently on view at the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill, is known for her exploration of humanity’s relationship to the natural world. The exhibition will include oceanscapes, which she began photographing almost two decades ago from her Long Island home, sand dunes shot in Mexico and Colorado, and mountains. The images often blur the line between abstraction and representation.

Birdhouse Show and Auction

The second annual birdhouse exhibition and auction will open at Bridge Gardens in Bridgehampton with a reception on Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. Bids can be placed on birdhouses made by more than two dozen East End artists through Aug. 17, when a closing event will take place to benefit the Peconic Land Trust.

Figurative Approaches

“Figurative Approaches,” a group exhibition, will open at the East End Culture Club in Southampton with a reception tomorrow from 6 to 8 p.m. and continue through July 30.

The show includes paintings and photographs that range from conventional realism to surrealism, expressionism, and semi-abstraction. The exhibiting artists are Carlo Maria Mariani, Anna Weyant, Patrick Bayly, Enrico Isamu Oyama, Parker Calvert, Prinston Nnanna, Hannah Marie Finkbohner, Guy Merin, Noel de Lesseps, Trina Michne, and Sabrina Wirth.

Two Solos at RJD

“Eat the Night,” work by Alexander Klingspor, and “The Deep End,” new works by Margo Selski, will be on view at RJD Gallery in Bridgehampton from Saturday through July 29. A reception will take place on Saturday from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

The gallery will also showcase work by Salvatore Alessi, Frank Oriti, Jorge Santos, Aneka Ingold, Stefanie Jackson, Alain Vaes, and Pamela Wilson.

At Temple Adas Israel

Temple Adas Israel in Sag Harbor will show “Serendipitous Creativity,” works by Michele Pulver Feldman, a mixed-media artist, from Sunday through Aug. 31. A reception will be held on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m.

Best known for images that portray modern Jewish life, Ms. Feldman has been inspired by Matisse, Cezanne, Picasso, Monet, Tiffany, and Hockney. Her techniques include silk painting, collage, monoprinting, acrylic painting, and wood burning.
