Carnival Time in Bridgehampton

There are plenty of smiles to go around on carnival rides.

A carnival for a cause has arrived. The Bridgehampton Carnival, which raises money for affordable housing in the Town of Southampton, starts Friday — it was supposed to begin on Thursday, but rain seems to have delayed the opening — and runs through Sunday, returning from July 24 through July 27.

On Wednesday, Thursday, and both Sundays, the grounds will be open from 6 to 10:30 p.m., and on Fridays and Saturdays from 6 to 11. The purchase of a wristband provides unlimited access to rides. They are available in advance for $23, plus a service fee, at brownpapertickets.com by searching “Bridgehampton Carnival.”

The carnival is being organized by the Southampton Housing Authority and ASCEND Homes and Community, which share a mission of identifying and developing affordable housing in the town. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreational Center.
