Trash and Treasures Appraised

Mon, 07/01/2019 - 12:13

Have an old frame, dusty book, or outdated piece of furniture you can’t seem to get rid of? Your household items and antiques could be worth more than you think.

On Friday, July 12, Doyle auctioneer specialists will evaluate your fine art, jewelry, watches, silver, books, and other items at an appraisal day to benefit the East Hampton Historical Society.

For a $20 donation, you can take up to five objects to Mulford Farm at 10 James Lane in East Hampton Village to be evaluated. Worried that one of your potential treasures may be too large to transport? Supply a photo of the item and Doyle’s appraisers will take a look.

Hit items in previous years have included a Bayco Colombian emerald ring, a Whiting sterling silver pitcher, a Louis Comfort Tiffany desk set, and even a portrait by William Merritt Chase.

Appraisals will take place all day by appointment. To book an evaluation, Kathy Brackenridge can be emailed at [email protected], or phoned at 212-427-4141, extension 211.
