Creativity — Two Ways

Tue, 07/30/2019 - 12:59

Linda Eder, an acclaimed performer of Broadway, standards, and pop music for almost three decades, will bring what the Chicago Tribune critic Howard Reich called her “famously luscious sound” to Guild Hall on Saturday at 8 p.m.

Ms. Eder has recorded 18 solo albums, earned a Drama Desk nomination for her starring role in “Jekyll & Hyde” on Broadway, and has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Radio City Music Hall, and Wolf Trap, as well as other venues across the country and in Europe. She will be joined by Billy Stritch, a Grammy Award-winning composer, performer, and musical director. Tickets are $65 to $125, $60 to $120 for members.

On Sunday at 7 p.m., Questlove, a D.J., producer, author, culinary entrepreneur, and longtime drummer for the Roots, the house band on NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” will discuss creativity at Guild Hall with a guest to be announced. Tickets are $30 to $100, $28 to $95 for members.

Tomorrow’s reading and book signing with David Sedaris is sold out.
