The Springs Improvement Society’s 87th annual Fisherman’s Fair will take place on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Ashawagh Hall grounds, with a children’s area for games and crafts, food and craft vendors, a restaurant raffle, live music, and, inside the hall, the Artists of the Springs invitational exhibition, which will be on view through Sunday.

For the first time, the fair will include a clam-shucking contest, at noon. The winner will receive a free annual membership in the Springs Improvement Society, a customized T-shirt, and bragging rights. Participants have been asked to preregister with Terry O’Riordan at [email protected] or 631-905-2490 and to take their own knives and gloves.

Proceeds from the fair will support the maintenance of Ashawagh Hall and the society’s scholarship program.
