A ceremony at the Hook Mill village green on Wednesday evening at 6 will remember the 343 first responders who died in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. The East Hampton Town Chiefs Association hosts the ceremony each year with officers from all the agencies that serve the town. Wreaths will be placed in memory of firefighters and emergency medical personnel who were killed, and Bill Beckert, the association’s chief, will speak. The public has been encouraged to attend.

Earlier on Wednesday, at 5 p.m., the East Hampton Sons of the American Legion will dedicate a 9/11 memorial on the post’s grounds in Amagansett. All have been invited to attend. For more information, click here
