20 Slides, 20 Seconds

PechaKucha Night Hamptons will return to the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill for its eighth iteration tomorrow at 6 p.m. Consisting of rapid-fire presentations on the theme of living creatively on the East End, the program features 10 speakers, each of whom shows 20 slides for 20 seconds each, yielding a presentation lasting six minutes and 40 seconds.

Tomorrow’s presenters are May Castleberry, an editor of artists’ books; Mirella Cheeseman, an artist; Sabra Moon Elliot, a painter; Michael Halsband, a photographer, filmmaker, and surfer; John Messinger, an artist and teacher; Michael Osinski, an oyster farmer; James Keith Phillips, a writer and member of the Shinnecock Indian Nation; Bastienne Schmidt, a multimedia artist; Ezra Thompson, a painter, and Mary Woltz, owner of Bees’ Needs. Tickets are $10, free for members, students, and children.

The museum has also released details about its annual Midsummer Party, which will take place on July 12 from 6:30 to 10 p.m., followed by an After Ten Party that will prolong the festivities until 1 a.m. This year’s event will feature food by Olivier Cheng Catering and Events, décor by Ron Wendt Design, music by Coleman Music, and performances by Richard Move.

Artwork by Jennifer Bartlett and Maya Lin will be on view, along with the second installation of the permanent collection. Individual dinner tickets range from $1,500 to $2,500, with tables for 10 priced at $15,000 and up. After Ten tickets are $200.
