The Army Corps of Engineers will present its proposed downtown Montauk beach stabilization project on April 23 at Town Hall, the East Hampton Town supervisor's office announced Thursday.

The 1 p.m. meeting will be led by Steve Couch, the chief of the Army Corps of Engineers' coastal section of the New York District, and Susan McCormick, the chief of New York State's Department of Environmental Protection's Coastal Erosion Management Section and Bureau of Flood Protection and Dam Safety.

Representative Tim Bishop, State Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele Jr., and Suffolk County Legislator Jay Schneiderman have been invited to attend, and the public will have an opportunity to pose questions.
