Inspired at Ashawagh

“Under the Influence,” an exhibition of work by five artists who have been involved with the Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center, will be on view at Ashawagh Hall in Springs on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 to 4. A reception will be held Saturday from 5 to 7:30.

The artists make clear that, despite the show’s title, the work is inspired by Pollock and Krasner but not derivative of their art. Sue Coe’s acrylic paintings are organic abstractions. Pamela Collins Focarino creates images of the sea and sky using oil and pastels on Venetian plaster.

Tracy Jamar’s wall hangings use fabrics, feathers, bones, and other unusual materials. Rose Zelenetz will exhibit sculpture and wall hangings made from brass, ceramic, glass, and wood. Ruby Jackson will be represented by miniatures, paper collage, and embroidery.

Michelle Stuart in London

Michelle Stuart, whose art has been internationally recognized for more than four decades, will have a solo exhibition from tomorrow through May 9 at Parafin, a London gallery launched in September and dedicated to contemporary art.

“Trace Memory: Selected Works 1969-2015” will focus on the artist’s recent photographic works, which create complex grid configurations from photographs taken in the studio or during her travels to New York, Paris, Machu Picchu, and Polynesia. Important older works will also be on view.

Ms. Stuart, who lives in Amagansett and New York City, is represented in major museum collections throughout the world. The exhibition “Michelle Stuart: Drawn From Nature” was organized by the Djanogly Art Gallery in Nottingham, England, in 2013 and traveled to the Parrish Art Museum and the Santa Barbara Museum of Art.

Printmaking Presentation

Printmaking will be the subject of a program organized by Esperanza Leon, director of Art Solar and a freelance curator, at 12 Koala Lane in East Hampton on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Dan Welden, a master printmaker from Sag Harbor, will present a portfolio of prints by different artists and discuss various printmaking techniques. Rob Calvert, a Sag Harbor painter and printmaker, will share his portfolio and talk about how he employs printmaking in his body of work.

Refreshments will follow the presentation. Seating is limited. Ms. Leon has requested that those interested in attending R.S.V.P. to [email protected].
