Bolshoi and Brewskis at Parrish

Those who like their ballet and opera over coffee and a muffin will appreciate the live gala reopening of the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow presented at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the Parrish Art Museum in Southampton.

The simulcast will include performances by the ballet troupe as well as some of opera’s finest artists performing for the theater and the world during the historic event.

The program will include excerpts from ballets such as “Don Quixote,” “The Flames of Paris,” “The Bright Stream,” “Spartacus,” and “Swan Lake” performed by the principal dancers and soloists of the Bolshoi.

The operatic performances will feature works sung by Placido Domingo, Natalie Dessay, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, and Violeta Urmana. The running time of the program is 105 minutes. Tickets are $15 and $12 for Parrish members and can be purchased online at parrishart.org or at the door.

And for those who like their networking done over a cold one, the Parrish Art Museum’s Business Council will offer the Art of the Brew on Friday, Nov. 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the museum’s concert hall. The event will feature the beers of eight craft breweries and two beer distributors as well as hors d’oeuvres from the Deli Counter, cheeses from Mecox Bay Dairy, a chocolate and beer pairing hosted by Exotic Chocolate Tasting, and a silent auction.

Blue Point Brewing Company, Captain Lawrence Brewing Company, Great South Bay Brewery, Greenport Harbor Brewing Company, Ithaca Beer Company, Kelso of Brooklyn Beer Company, Lake Placid Brewery, Saranac Beer, and the Southampton Publick House will each have beers on pour. The distributors are Clare Rose and Manhattan Beer Distributors. The silent auction will include among its offerings two tickets to the 2012 Great American Beer Festival in Denver, Colo.

The evening is open to the public and Parrish members and allows business professionals to make new contacts and friends. Tickets are $50 and $40 for Parrish members. Those who join the Business Council prior to or on the night of the event will receive four free tickets. Tickets can be purchased online at parrishart.org or at the door.
