British Thriller
“An Inspector Calls,” J.B. Priestley’s classic British thriller, will kick off the Hampton Theatre Company’s 31st season next Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Quogue Community Hall. The show will run through Nov. 8.
First produced 70 years ago, “An Inspector Calls” takes place in England on a single evening in 1912 when the prosperous Birling family is celebrating the engagement of their daughter, Sheila. Into the party comes Inspector Goole, who claims to be investigating the suicide of a young woman. His questioning brings to light information that begins to undermine the family’s tranquillity.
Sarah Hunnewell directs the production, which stars Edward Brennan, Daren Kelly, Susan Galardi, Amanda Griemsmann, Anthony Famulari, and Spencer Scott.
